  15. COMMENTS

LADY A represents a unique market opportunity, being a stunning example of an original Jon Bannenberg design but almost entirely rebuilt.

Firstly her heritage - originally launched in 1986 and built in Japan by Nishii Zosen-Sterling, LADY A is one of the most distinctive yachts on the water and features many of this iconic designer's signature design notes. Her decks are as impressive to view as they are to use, the spectacular sun deck, sitting within the yacht's raised upper works, is also pure Bannenberg. The use of glass, and the priority given to ensuring that a good view is always to be had is another of the designer's iconic traits on show here. With a beam of 11.8m LADY A is a huge volume yacht and possesses 879 GT of volume in only 55 metres, and split-level living areas are some of the most impressive you will find at this length, with a large main deck dining room and superb upper deck lounge leading to the expansive aft deck and its dining and lounge areas. Another saloon is found forward, enjoying a sweep of curved glass and views over the bow, giving guest more choices for relaxation than many 70 metre yachts.

Then the rebuild - a full year spent in the shipyard in 2018 at a cost of more than €12 million gave the yacht a newly designed and fitted interior with walnut cabinetry and solid timber floors, and a new layout with a larger and full beam Owner's cabin and a further 5 luxurious en suite cabins.

Additional to the interior re-fabrication, the yacht also had an extension to the aft end of her upper deck to increase the exterior seating and social spaces available. The new sundeck design is now an undoubted feature of the yacht, with vast sunbathing areas, a seated bar, Jacuzzi, and sun awnings. Two, more private, lounges are also found at the foredeck, a perfect retreat when in harbour.

The rebuild also included overhauls to her mechanical and electrical systems, the installation of new Quantum zero-speed stabilizers, all new teak decks and a full paintjob. The main engines were also overhauled in January 2021 (top end rebuilds to both engines).

Maintained regardless of cost in her current ownership, Lady A also had her EU VAT fully paid in Malta when purchased in 2017, and she presents a fantastic opportunity for a Buyer to benefit from the huge investment made in the current ownership.
