MAINTENANCE HISTORY

10-year Lloyds Special Survey in Process

INTRODUCTION

Re-imagined as the ultimate support vessel, UMBRA underwent an extensive refit that left no piece of her untouched. A complete paint job and new garage are the most visible of the additions but by far not the only ones. The upgrades were done with the crew and performance in mind. Creating not just a beautiful vessel but a usable one as well. UMBRA’s ample deck space, large garage, and heavy-duty crane allow her to carry a wide offering of tenders and toys including two Triton submarines (available for purchase separately). She also features a full dive department (dive gear not included) with dive compressor, deck workshop in the air-conditioned garage, and a 7m x 2m storage mezzanine.

LAYOUT & INTERIOR FEATURES

UMBRA sleeps 19 crew in seven cabins consisting of a two four berth cabins, 2 twin cabins, one triple cabin and separate cabins for the captain and chief engineer each with a large double bed, all with en-suite shower facilities. The galley, crew mess, walk-in refrigerator and freezer are located on the lower decks. All cabins feature new phone system and apple TVs. The IT system received a complete renewal Mid 2019 providing wired and WIFI connectivity throughout the vessel. A new bridge screen switching system was also added creating mission changeable informational set-ups on the helm area.

TOY STORAGE

UMBRA has a modular tie-down system capable of securing any variation of cargo.  2 rail bays on the main deck and 3 bays on the upper deck each 1.5m wide with 200mm hole pattern makes it very easy to integrate and move equipment by mission.  A 5,800 liter gasoline tank and filling station makes support easy.

REFIT 2017

During the 2017 refit, a capstan and new cleats were added in the bow section along with a huge deck box and Boldit decking throughout the exterior spaces.  The new garage promenade deck was built to the specifications of an EC 130 Helo landing pad and features fold-down rails.

ENGINE ROOM

The 2017 refit did not only cover the above deck portions of UMBRA; she has been upgraded below decks as well.  A new Alphatron ships monitoring system was installed in 2019 along with gas detection for O2 and gasoline.  Engine synchronizing, new exhaust lagging and full revitalization of the engineering spaces.  The true gem is the engineer’s workshop that features a fully IT integrated workstation, ventilated welding bench, lathe and milling machine all in an air-conditioned sound deadened shop.

SURVEYING AND MAPPING SYSTEM

UMBRA has also been outfitted with a WASSP 3D mapping system that is capable of reaching over 500m.  She is able to connect wirelessly with WASSP outfitted tenders and conduct mapping missions to build dive profiles for the subs, scout her way through uncharted waters or search for wrecks on the seafloor.

REMARKS
All tenders, toys and submarines have been removed from UMBRA and are not included the sale. Pictures of the toys are for reference only. The submarines are available for purchase separately.
